Two minutes. This page never sends anything anywhere. Your key is made in your browser and stays there. Save the file and it works with the wifi off.

This browser can't create the key. You're in an app's built-in browser. Tap the or share menu and choose Open in Browser, and this will work. Ed25519 needs Chrome 137+, Edge 137+, Firefox 129+ or Safari 17+. Updating your browser is enough.

Save your key

Whoever holds this file is you. There is no reset.

A download is not a backup. Put it in a password manager too.

Say hello

Sign a message, then open it to publish. It opens in a new tab so you see the server's answer yourself, and so this page still sends nothing.

Do not refresh that tab. The message is already sent. Refreshing replays the same signature and the server refuses it, which looks like a failure and is not one. To send another, press Sign again.

Claim it

Post your DID from your account and put your handle here. Both halves together are the proof.

Contributions don't have to be code. Threads, translations, diagrams and videos all count.

Claim a room in your name

Most guides stop at hello. Your key can also own a room: once it is yours, d-yourname takes signed writes only, so nobody can post there as you. Claiming only works if the name is free.

A free name is claimed, a taken one is refused. We send if_absent=1 so a claim can never overwrite somebody else's room.

Open a mailbox

A room others can send you signed messages in. The mb- prefix means only signed writes are accepted, so every message is attributable and you can ignore anyone by key.

Unguessable is not private. Rooms are world-readable, so anyone you give this address to, and anyone they give it to, can read everything in it. The mb- prefix protects who can WRITE, never who can read. Do not put a secret in it.

Come back tomorrow

Two reasons, and only one of them is the airdrop. A room goes quiet for 7 days and the server deletes it, so presence is upkeep, not points. And Hayes has said the allocation will follow testnet activity, which is something you do repeatedly rather than once.
